Although I graduated in May 2010, my MFA show is happening this September, 2011. All are welcome to come see paintings from my Academy years, as well as my latest work…all in the mode of classic landscape painting.

All are invited: Saturday, March 5th, 1-4pm: reception at Portola Art Gallery at Allied Arts in Menlo Park, CA, 75 Arbor Rd., complete with refreshments and live music by Herb Moore. As featured artist for the month of March (till March 30), I will be showing larger works in addition to my smaller pieces. The show is entitled “Atmosphere and Land”, building on my “Atmospheric Landscape” theme, in my Early-California, Craftsman style of painting. We would love to see you there.

In love with Crockett/Port Costa! Eight paintings in one week for the annual Valona Paintout. It was hard to choose these three for the Epperson Gallery show…first, 12″ x 9″ Hotel Burlington, Port Costa:

At a fun day in Fremont back on September 12th, I was fortunate to receive a first-place cash award for my painting of Lake Elizabeth:

This and the other painters’ works will be showcased at the Fremont Art Association’s gallery at 37659 Niles Blvd., Oct. 29th-Nov. 21, 2010, with Reception on Sunday Nov. 7th, 1:30-4:00 pm. I’d love to see you there!

Arts Benicia has its great dinner auction on Friday, September 24th, 6pm. Tickets at Artsbenicia.org. I’m donating a plein-air painting (First St. View, Benicia, 8″x10″, above), as are with many other artists. Last year dinner was great, we had loads of fun, and much art was purchased at reasonable prices, benefiting Arts Benicia programs. This year held at Ironhorse showroom, 990 Grant St., Benicia. www.artsbenicia.org

Then it’s the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival…

I’ll be showing beautiful new landscapes (above: Mount Tam, 12″ x 16″) at the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival Saturday and Sunday, September 25-26. Promises to be a wonderful show. I’m in space 101-A, located to the right off Cascade, just in from Throckmorton, in Mill Valley’s gorgeous redwood park. I’m working on those paintings now. www.mvfaf.org

I’ll also be attending Kathleen Dunphy’s workshop in Murphys, CA. Promises to be fun and enlightening. I always like to see what others are up to. Continuing education. I enjoyed Tom Soltesz’ a few weeks ago.

Post#5 Opening Gala for Alameda Exhibit

Hi Friends! Come to this Friday night’s Opening Gala at Alameda’s Frank Bette Center for the Arts, showing plein-air works from this year’s event. It’s at 1601 Paru St., Friday August 6th, from 7pm to 9pm.

You can see my paintings of various Alameda landmarks, such as Croll’s Pizza (pictured below), along with the other artists’ work. Stop by for a fun event! (Exhibit up through August 28th).
